Shrimply the Best Shrimp Dip

Whether you are the host or you are the guest that needs to bring a dish to pass, this shrimp dip is guaranteed to be a crowd favorite! So, don’t be surprised if it’s gone in the blink of an eye.

What once was considered a retro recipe that your grandma or mother would make during the holidays, now has a modernized take on it with fresher ingredients, healthier ingredients, extra tang, a little bit of herbs and a little bit of spice to make everything nice.

I opted to use fresh cooked shrimp instead of canned shrimp because I felt that the flavoring was a little better than the canned shrimp. In addition, I like the bigger meatier pieces in the dip. Since I remove the tails and hand chop the shrimp myself, I can control the shrimp to dip ratio. I don’t know about you, but I like my dip with meatier pieces that I can taste and feel, especially when it comes to this shrimp dip. The shrimp is the main star of the show. So, you would want to make sure you can really taste the shrimp. Making sure the shrimp is chopped in pieces as opposed to a mashed consistency or small shrimps that just get lost in the dip when mixed is key.

How Should I serve this Dip?

This dip is best served cold. But, if it left out a room temperature during a gathering, that is okay as well. Just make sure to store any leftovers in an airtight container.

Can this Shrimp Dip be made Ahead of Time?

You bet! If you are short on time, no worries! This dip can be made ahead of time and stored in the fridge for up to one week even.

What do you Recommend Serving with the Dip?

I tested out a few different crackers and toasts. My favorite way to serve this was on toasted french bread or sourdough slices. I toast them not in the toaster, but in a pan with melted butter. Then, I like to spread the dip on the toasted slices of bread. It is uhhhh-mazing!

If you don’t have time for all of that, that’s okay! I have a few crackers that I love eating them with too. I love the small round bruschetta toasts, saltine crackers or pita chips as well!
