Asian Green Bean Fry Cones with Two Dipping Sauces

Green bean fries are the new kids on the block and I must say that I am loving them! I am absolutely obsessed with french fries to say the least, all kinds too: crinkle, wedges, waffle, curly, sweet potato, tots, you name it! So, replacing my starchy potato goodness with another vegetable that is green seemed impossible to do. How could I!? But, these crispy, salty, healthier version passed the test and I love them! Especially because they get cooked to golden perfection in my air fryer, which also makes them so easy to make! Serve them with two different Asian dipping sauces on the side and you will not be disappointed!

They are not only healthy due to replacing the potato with green beans in the middle, but also the way in which they are cooked. Healthy isn’t always boring and this recipe proves that. If you are not a green bean fan yet, you might just be converted into one after trying this recipe!

What makes these Asian? I coated these with a crispy garlic sichuan outside using a air fryer mix from Williams Sonoma. They also have a sweet chili air fryer mix that I also recommend will be great when used in this recipe. On top of the coating, I then I created two different Asian dipping sauces. One sauce being a honey srircha aioli dipping sauce and the other being a tangy hoisin dipping sauce. Both great! Depending on your flavor profile you might like one more than the other.

Can I make these with regular flavors and non-Asian? The answer is absolutely YES! You can feel free to use Italian flavored bread crumbs and pair the green bean fries with my marinara sauce. You can use plain bread crumbs or spice up your plain bread crumbs with your favorite seasonings and use your dipping sauce of choice, I could recommend my ranch dressing that can also be used as a spread or dipping sauce . If you do not have the garlic sichuan mix or the sweet chili mix, then I recommend going with the Italian bread crumbs or the plain.

These perfectly acceptable green bean fries are ideal when that french fry craving kicks in. They are low carb and you can eat the whole pan if you want. Don’t worry, no one will be judging you! If you are looking for an easy to make recipe, this falls in that category as well, only requiring a good 15 minutes to make in your air fryer. Trust me, if you can make crispy chicken tenders or crispy potatoes, you can easily make these too! All you need is eggs, flour and bread crumbs and you are in business!

The one key to making these extra crispy and golden brown is spraying them with olive oil spray or any type of non-stick spray once they go into your air fryer. This technique also ensures your food won’t stick together. Another key thing is to make sure that you do not use frozen green beans, always use fresh produce. The frozen green beans holds extra unwanted moisture and can in turn make your green bean fries soggy. No one likes soggy fries, even with regular potato french fries.

Game day or not, these adorable cones make for the perfect snack or side dish to your proteins. Keep them in the cones or serve them in bulk, you can’t go wrong!

Can I do this in a slow cooker instead of the oven?
