Build Your Own Wing Basket with Crispy Air Fryer Wings 4 Ways

Cooking wings in the air fryer is the best cooking method because it eliminates the unhealthy extra oils, it eliminates the chance for your wings to get mushy in the oven and best of all you can eliminate the guilt. If you are ever craving wings, this is the healthiest alternative and is highly recommended! With these recipes, you get wings 4 ways to build your own basket and mix and match as you please! I incorporated my favorite sauces, brands and flavors. I am so excited to share this with all of you!

If you haven’t tried chicken wings in the air fryer, you absolutely need to! They are hands down, the best and I love them for a variety of reasons:

  • It cuts down cooking time. When cooking them in the air fryer they are cooked in a short 30 minutes!
  • The process in which they are cooked is so easy! It is very hands off. You coat them, toss them in the air fryer, press start and BAM, you have the crispiest and juiciest wings that are equivalent to restaurant quality. The speed and air circulating within the air fryer is what creates the crispiest skin.
  • This cooking process is a healthier alternative, yet they have the same great taste just like the deep fried version.
  • The air fryer is super user friendly. It has the same settings as an oven, but cuts down the preheating time, cooking time and your meal can just be made with just a push of a button!

With these wings 4 ways, the flavors include: classic medium buffalo, korean bbq, parmesan crusted and regular smoky southern bbq. It is a great variety and I can guarantee that there will be something for everyone! It includes a mix of salty, spicy and sweet. One bite of each and you will be hooked! These wings are perfect for dinners, a game day snack or any gathering. They are so fun and you get to mix and match and build your own basket just the way you like.

My favorite part about this recipe is that the all of the wings are made the same way for the most part. Once they are cooked, you coat them in you favorite sauces after they are cooked. There is no marinating ahead of time required!

The only difference with the parmesan flavor is that you do include it in the mixture to before air frying and you do not coat with the cheese after as you do with the sauces. You want the cheese to get bubbly and crispy. It hardens and sticks to the wings and makes for a really savory flavor.

Now, I want to really dive into the flavors now. I used all of my favorite brands and sauces that you can easily purchase from Whole Foods. These sauces are not only great on these wings, but they truly go great with any dish or other protein.

Flavor: Classic Medium Buffalo. My favorite buffalo sauce and brand is New Primal. They have both a buffalo seasoning and sauce, so I loved being able to incorporate both in this dish. The seasoning really gives it that extra buffalo flavor and I think it gives it a nice touch. I use the seasoning before I air fry and incorporate it into the coating. Once cooked, I toss in their medium buffalo sauce.

Flavor: Korean BBQ. We Rub You is one of my favorite asian sauce brands generally speaking. I love this brand because the sauce is thick, sticky and beyond flavorful. I coat the wings in the sauce after they are air fried. I love garnishing these with lime wedges to squeeze on a little extra tang, some sesame seeds and thinly sliced green onion. The garnishes are so minimal and light, yet provide that extra flavor for that also make for the perfect combination.

Flavor: Parmesan Crusted. This is the perfect mess free option. For those that don‘t like the mess, yet still crave flavorful wings, this flavor is for you! It is a good change from those super saucy messy typical wings we normally gravitate towards.

Flavor: Smoky Southern BBQ. Lillie’s Q BBQ sauce is hands down the best BBQ sauce. I love the flavor of their sauce because it is true authentic southern bbq. The creator wanted to bring authentic southern bbq to Chicago and he did just that.

Got an air fryer? Make the wings! I can guarantee that you will absolutely love the results!
